Mr. Benjamin Chwee Yew Keng began his career with Gibb & Co. in 2014 as an intern before returning to complete his pupillage and being retained as an Associate within the Litigation Practice Group. His commitment and legal acumen led to his elevation to Partner in Gibb & Co. in 2023, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey with the firm before transitioning to Azhar & Goh.

Currently serving as Head of Insolvency & Liquidation Practice and Head of Banking & Finance, Benjamin is also a member of the Executive Committee that oversees the management and administration of both the Northern Region and Federal Territory offices. His leadership roles reflect his expertise in specialised areas of commercial law and his contribution to the firm’s strategic direction.

Benjamin’s practice concentrates on asset recovery, corporate rescue mechanisms, financial services and banking litigation. His comprehensive advocacy experience spans roles as sole counsel and as part of legal teams, where he serves either as Lead Counsel or as a Junior to the Managing Partner on complex matters regularly handled at both High Court and Appellate Court levels.

His recent achievements include successfully serving as Lead Counsel in defending a major financial institution against claims relating to alleged inadequacies in online banking security systems. This case demonstrates his capability in handling sophisticated financial services litigation and his understanding of contemporary banking technology issues.
