With this latest addition to its offices in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, the firm strengthens its reach to serve a wider target market, reinforcing its commitment to making quality legal counsel accessible to clients nationwide.
The Seremban Representative office will be headed by Partner Nur Liyana Izzati Binti Abdul Aziz. Her appointment reflects both her exceptional leadership capabilities and the firm’s confidence in her ability to extend the legacy of legal excellence that the firm has built since its founding in 1996.
Called to the Malaysian Bar in 2018, Liyana was made partner at her previous firm in 2023 before joining Azhar & Goh. Her rapid career progression reflects a rare combination of technical mastery in financial services law and exceptional skill in handling complex commercial litigation. She regularly appears as both Lead Counsel and as part of legal teams representing major financial institutions, with experience in landmark cases including Federal Court proceedings on critical banking security issues.
What distinguishes Liyana in Malaysia’s legal landscape is her dual expertise in conventional and Islamic banking. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice from Universiti Teknologi MARA, positioning her uniquely to advise clients navigating the intersection of conventional and Islamic financial systems. Beyond her core banking practice, she has demonstrated remarkable versatility, successfully acting as Lead Counsel in defamation matters and handling general litigation, running-down cases and conveyancing transactions.
